*On Our Mission Statement
"ON A WING AND A PRAYER'
Exerpt from the Communion Devotion March 2, 2014
Having your plane cut nearly in two, you have every justification to give up, to just turn back, conclude there is no hope for going on. This crew chose to fly on, and share their fate, depending on Got to see them through
Why this bit of Aircraft Trivia?
Well, sometimes we get to feeling like there just is no hope... We feel like we’ve been thru a war, we’re all shot up and falling apart.... we’re barely holding together, and not worth the effort. We feel like giving up..., like there’s no more we can do, and no place we can find help.
It just Ain’t true. There IS hope. There IS help. We always have a Help, AND Hope, and Purpose until the Lord takes us.., Even AS he takes us. We are given life in Christ. He accepts us where we are when we come looking for Him.. We may have some battle scars, WE may have thought there was no hope for us, but HE still gave His life for us.., He shed His blood for us to forgive and save us.
And while we’re here, God has prepared a great work ... for Each of us. We may not know what it is, or what is to be accomplished, but if we live in Him, HE will accomplish that work in us. So we Certainly are worth the effort and worth His sacrifice for us if we live for Him. HE says it... not me.
So, we may have lived a rough life Before coming to Christ. We may go through untold battles and Spiritual Warfare After coming to Christ. But as long as we keep our faith In Him and the Eyes of Our Hearts On Him, we can be Confident that When He Comes..., We might be nearly torn in two, with battle scars and wounds all over, but HE WILL bring us Home for a safe landing and peace..., even if on a Wing and a Prayer..
